Taylor Swift cancels concerts after arrests made over 'terror attack fears'
Adventure park closure due to insurance costs a ‘blessing in disguise’ for Co Meath businessman
Organizers have canceled three Taylor Swift concerts in Austria scheduled for later this week following officials' announcement of arrests related to an apparent plot targeting an event in the Vienna area. Swift was set to perform at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Event organizer Barracuda Music announced on its Instagram channel late Wednesday that "we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety."
Earlier on Wednesday, authorities reported the arrest of two suspected extremists, one of whom seemed to be planning an attack on an event in the Vienna area. The 19-year-old main suspect was arrested in Ternitz, south of Vienna, while the second suspect was apprehended in the Austrian capital.
A businessman who was compelled to shut down his adventure center in Co Meath due to skyrocketing insurance costs is now successfully running an eco park on the same site, paying a fraction of the premiums he faced five years ago.
Dave Robinson had to reluctantly close Rathbeggan Lakes Family Adventure Park, near Dunshaughlin, in 2019. The only insurance quote he could obtain was for €40,000, double what he had paid the previous year. Additionally, the excess on his premiums soared from €300 to €10,000, which led to the closure of the 22-acre facility, resulting in the loss of 28 full- and part-time jobs.
However, Mr. Robinson, who describes himself as “always a man with a plan,” now sees the closure as a blessing in disguise.
Have a great day today!
Thanks
